Fix is, it's like a personal stylist by mail. You pay a $20 styling fee, which is applied to anything you purchase in your "fix." You fill out a styling profile, with your likes, dislikes, and write a note to your stylist about what you are looking for. You get a box with 5 items. If you buy all 5, you get 25% off the total. I usually buy one or two things I love, but this is my best box yet! You can get a regular fix, say once a month, or request one when you want, which is what I do. About once a season is enough to give my wardrobe a boost. You can create a Pinterest board that your stylist can see to really help nail down your style. But I started it because my closet was boring. I had mommy jeans, t-shirts, and lots of black and grey. I thought it would be fun to try. I never thought I'd get hooked!
With that said, here is my reveal!
This is what it looks like out of the box.... I asked for light, Spring tops for an upcoming Japan trip, and maybe a good dress for travel too. I wanted the total to be under $200, which I know from experience is hard to get 5 items for. Everything is neatly packaged, and there is a postage paid return envelope to return anything you don't want. Check out online within 3 days. Easy peasy!
The first top I tried on was this Laju Valora Embroidered Top that I had pinned to my Pinterest style board. The picture doesn't show the lovely detail. It's a bit short, but I love it! The flats are by Oka-B. I am on a Facebook group for Stitch Fix buy/sell, and the lovely ladies there always have good tips for making the most of your Fixes, and I learned about these shoes there.
The next top was also on my Pinterest board! I usually don't get exactly what I pinned, it's not a shop by demand service, but I was happily surprised by my stylist's attention to my note and Pinterest. I love the color of this one. It's Fun2Fun Dominic Pleated Shoulder Blouse. Many brands and items are exclusive to Stitch Fix, which I also like. I styled this with my wedge sandals by Crocs. They are super comfy.
This next top is from Skies Are Blue. It's not something I would pick out on my own, another reason I love Stitch Fix, it gets me out of my comfort zone, and this top is fun, and perfect for my trip!
With this next top, I'm on the fence. It's sheer, so I need to wear something under it, maybe a black camisole would look better. The clothes also come with a style card, to show how you can dress an item up or down, which is very helpful. I added a necklace I got from Nordstrom Rack to give a little bling. I might try this top with some skinny jeans to see how it looks. This is Dex Oakleigh Faux Leather Trim Blouse.
Here is the same top, styled with denim, a lace extender and belt. Necklace and earrings from Viv & Ingrid. Better?
Finally, the dress! I was a bit disappointed when I pulled this dress out, it is more of a Fall piece to me, as the fabric is like a sweater knit. Turns out, I had pinned this dress on my Fall Pinterest board, which my stylist did not even see, but it shows how good she is at getting me! I've had a different stylist each time, since I don't get a regular fix, and haven't gotten a 5 out of 5 yet. But I have a feeling, I want to request this stylist again! Anyway, I love this dress! Maybe not for Summer in Japan, but it will still look good come Fall! I style it here with my Frye boots, which I got on sale on Amazon.com.
Here is the detail of the back, so cute!
And another look with my Crocs...
Here is my style card of all five items, and the sweet note from my stylist.
So, what do you think? Should I buy all five items? I'm still debating, but for the discount, it makes sense to keep all five. If I return just one item, I could basically get it for free with the discount. Here is the price breakdown. I got 25% off for buying all 5!
