New York City, June 2018 Part 2

Sunday: Times Square to SoHo

TKTS booth, Times Square

I haven't seen a show in quite some time. We got a late start, but the line wasn't too bad. Ticket prices have gone up since I last was here. Over $100 now at the Half Price booth!

Lunch at John's Pizza

I love NY pizza, and had to get my fix. The Greenwich Village location is still my favorite food wise, but this location is handy for theatre going, and has the architectural beauty advantage... circa 1929 church building. Check out that gorgeous stained glass ceiling!

Once On This Island

We all loved this musical! We had 2nd row seats, and the cast would pass up and down the aisles, right by our feet. One of the actors, Lea Salonga, was the original Miss Saigon, and I saw her perform in NY years ago. I had seen a special on the search for the young lead, and this show was on my list.

Kim and Vicky are doing pop up yoga poses all over the city. Part of a yoga challenge on Instagram. It was fun to see the passers by gawking. People are rarely phased by anything in NYC.

A bit of fun in Times Square, at the Line store. I had never heard of this place. Apparently it's big in Asia, some kind of communication app?

We caught the subway downtown and hit Matchabar for some yummyiness.

 Party time! Dinner at Balthazar

I had never dined at this place when I was a starving librarian in NYC. Again, just didn't have the budget for it. We celebrated Kim with good food, good wine, and good conversation. Oh, and some kitsch from Party City too, thanks to V! I had the best Steak Frites of my life. Oh it was good. And my first taste of V's favorite dessert, Pavlova. Divine.
