And nearby, there was a temple, Tenryurin, with beautiful gardens.
Then we got some matcha ice cream.
And walked along the water and bridge.
There were shops of course, and we got some warm o-dango, and a fresh strawberry mochi. Then back to Kyoto, to a Kaiten sushi place. It was hard to find, but hubby and I think we went to the same one 9 years ago, Sushi no Musashi in the train station. It was 146¥ a plate! a few were 346¥. So fresh and delish. K ate about 3 plates of the crab salad sushi.
And then, we got another all day bus pass, to see the Golden Pavilion that we arrived at too late yesterday. Made it this time!
Then another bus across town, to the Kyoto Handicraft Center. I have bought a woodblock print the last two trips, but skipped it this time. Though they added another building, there wasn't as many shops. Though I did buy plenty! K made a cloisonné pendant there! She did great!
She also got some special items with money from her Grammy and o-Bachan. A kokeshi doll, and a pink yukata. After that busy day, we were hungry. It was rainy, so we hit a ramen place the hotel recommended. We knew it would be good when we saw the line outside. They took our order outside, so when we were seated, our hot bowls of noodles were brought right away. Slurp!
