Tokyo Part 2

Still sleeping at odd hours... Woke up at 3 am... But we had a packed day today. Logged over 18,000 steps on the FitBit!
Took the JR Yamanote Line to Harajuku, and visited Meiji Shrine. They are doing some work on the buildings, so it wasn't as pretty as my first visit about 18 years ago.

K loved it though!
Then we hit Takeshita Dori in Harajuku, and saw lots of bright funkily dressed ladies and teens. They were filming one British gal shopping in Sanrio. Maybe we will see her on TV. I got a crepe with cream, banana and chocolate. Yum! And hit the Disney Harajuku store, designed for ladies. I escaped with just a few items.

We wandered over to Omotosando, and more shops. On the hunt for Studio Ghibli merchandise, since the museum is closed until July. K was so disappointed, so we let her pick something out at Kiddlyland- a 4 floor toy paradise!

(Just one!)

And I found this yummy Gyoza restaurant for lunch. No food pics, we were too hungry!

Then went to Shibuya Station, to find Hachiko! (The statue, not the cat) had to wait for the hoards of picture takers to get this shot. If you've never heard of Hachiko, read more here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hachikō

And since we're here... Another Disney Store! 3 floors of cute. We snagged a couple unique Tsum Tsum, Pooh and Daisy Duck dressed like monkeys. Maybe a New Years release? And we got some Episode 7 Star Wars Tsum Tsum, which I don't think are in the US yet.
Showing the Disney stuff we were enticed by...

Check out BB-8 and Rey!

I wanted one of the Tomica Tsum Tsum cars, and couldn't resist Pooh san.

Stopped to check out the food basement at Seibu department store in Shibuya, and stumbled upon one of my favorites, Pierre Herme macarons. Yes please! They packed my two cookies with an ice pack!

After a brief rest at the hotel, we enjoyed another delicious meal, Tenkichi Ya for tempura. Sooooo good! And a bargain at 1200 yen for all this. There is the best rice in the wood covered bowl, and it's all you can eat for rice. There are instructions on the 3 ways to eat the tempura. Handy English menu below. There are a bunch of restaurants in yet another office building across from our hotel. I think we could just eat in this neighborhood, at a new restaurant every day for years.
