Got a decent night's sleep finally, at least, I fell back asleep after I woke at 4:15 am.
Headed out to Asakusa, for one of my favorite things to do in Tokyo... Eat and shop!
I still remember the first time I came, and the smell and taste of the fresh o senbei, rice crackers. I also got matcha soft serve ice cream, matcha cookies, and fresh matcha mochi. Heaven! Did I mention, I love matcha?
Oh yes, and there is a rather cool, old temple too.
Shopping the many stalls leading to the temple...
Watching fresh bean filled sweets being made...
We had delicious sushi at a Kaiten sushi (conveyor belt) off the main shopping street, Nakamise Dori. K had 4 plates of the freshest maguro, hold the wasabi.
Then, we went to Tokyo Sky Tree, the tallest structure in Tokyo, which wasn't here the last time I was here! It was drizzly and overcast, so the views weren't the best, but at least we made it to the top, unlike our Eiffel Tower visit in the rain!
And, the whole reason (for me) to trek out here, Studio Ghibli store, Donguri, at Sky Tree. So much Totoro cuteness! And I resisted the Noritake tea cups, and we didn't buy a thing. Still worth it, for the photo ops!
Dinner at a tonkatsu place our hotel recommended. Very yummy!
